This specialisation provides an opportunity for motivated professionals concerned with evidence-based educational practice to undertake advanced coursework in this area of study that will enable them to perform to a high standard in either a classroom, consulting or literacy leadership role.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Research, analyse, evaluate and communicate the theoretical concepts and methods used for effective learning and teaching for literacy education.
  2. Review, analyse and synthesise knowledge of the pedagogical practices for literacy education to create a philosophy that underpins effective teaching and learning.
  3. Work collaboratively with colleagues to evaluate and improve teaching approaches as part of ongoing professional development.
