Graduate Certificate in Aeromedical Retrieval

This course is of value to those who work in an aeromedical retrieval service or who seek greater understanding of aeromedical retrieval. This includes doctors, nurses, paramedics and others with an interest in aeromedical retrieval. The course provides education and training relevant to aeromedical retrieval services, retrieval medicine and aviation medicine. The course includes patient retrieval via both fixed wing and rotary wing (helicopter) aircraft and aeromedical retrieval services responsible for large geographical areas, offshore platforms (oil, gas and shipping) and inaccessible terrain (mountainous, heavily forested, coastal cliff).

Admission requirements

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years appropriate professional experience

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to have a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. medicine, nursing or paramedicine) or, when accepted, equivalent prior learning including at least 5 years appropriate aeromedical retrieval experience, and applicants are to provide copies of their qualifications together with their resume detailing experience relevant to aeromedical retrieval medicine, and evidence from their current employer within the aeromedical retrieval industry. These will be evaluated to determine the relevance of the students experience and their ability to successfully complete the course.
