Master of Human Resource Management

This coursework Masters is designed to develop and educate leaders and managers to meaningfully contribute to organisational success, by developing excellence in people management. It will provide students with the ability to respond to people management challenges, within contemporary organisations. Student's skills in communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving will be developed through this program. This course will ensure graduates are business-driven HR professionals, who are experts in people management.

Practicum Option

Students will develop a broad range of work related skills in a public, private or not-for-profit organisation at a management level.

Duty of care

Students must participate in an induction on the requirements and procedures for completing work placement including documentation and risk management.

Attendance requirements

Students must complete a minimum of 100 hours in an approved work environment. Host organisations may require students to attend work after hours and on the weekends.

Application process

Students are required to submit a resume, a statement addressing their suitability and may be required to attend an interview. Students are also required to have a minimum WAM of 65 to be considered.

Professional practice rules

Admission requirements

  • Into a 120 credit point Masters Degree, a Bachelor Honours degree in the same discipline; or
  • Into a 180 credit point Masters Degree, a Bachelor degree in the same discipline; or
  • Into a 180 credit point Masters Degree, a Bachelor Honours degree; or
  • Into a 240 credit point Masters Degree, a Bachelor degree; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years appropriate professional experience.

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to have a Bachelor degree in a discipline other than Human Resource Management, with equivalents considered. Alternatively applicants can have a Graduate Certificate in a relevant discipline.
