The Public Relations Major prepares students for the challenges of the public relations industry. Whilst the major covers the PR discipline in its broader applications to industry, government and corporations, it has a particular emphasis on the shifting nature of communications with a specific prominence on new media, innovation and creativity. The major provides students with the conceptual understanding and practical skills to make an effective contribution at any level. It equips students with critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills, and the ability to take the initiative and make decisions. It also strengthens writing and media relation skills, and provides students with the knowledge and ability to plan and implement a range of communication strategies.
