The course provides a pathway for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to enter into most undergraduate studies at ECU. Students develop the academic skills and the cultural understandings of university necessary to succeed in higher education. Entry into some undergraduate programs may require additional extension studies and processes of negotiation.

All students are required to be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and be at least 18 years of age during their first year of study, and entry is available through the Indigenous Student Intake Test (ISIT), where students have completed a Year 12 Western Australian Certificate of Education, with equivalents considered. Alternatively students can complete a Certificate Level 3 TAFE qualification. Special entry may be considered for students if the program is offered in partnership with other education providers such as TAFE or the WA Education Department.
Portfolio pathway applications are not accepted for this course.
High achieving students have the opportunity to fast track their studies and complete the course in six months, with approval of the school.
