Event Management Major

The Event Management major equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to function as event management professionals and industry leaders in a diverse range of contemporary event settings. With the increasing social, economic and political significance of high-profile events, employers increasingly prefer university graduates with analytical, practical and transferable employability skills, including leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving, for managerial positions. This major commences with an introduction to the events industry and focuses on the application of key business principles, practices and skills including; marketing, communications and sponsorship, managing the service experience, human resource and strategic management, funding and finance, sport venue and event management, business events management, business research and evaluation, and event staging, logistics, and operations management. Course Exclusion: This major cannot be studied in the Bachelor of Event, Sport and Recreation Management or Bachelor of Sport, Recreation or Event Management.
