Contemporary Music Major

Effective from 01-JAN-2016 : Code MABUUY

This intensive, performance-based major centres on ensemble studies, where students develop advanced instrumental and performance skills on their chosen instrument (vocal, guitar, bass, keyboard or drum-set). Students will receive individual lessons, attend instrumental or stagecraft performance workshops and be a part of a repertoire-intense, performing ensemble. Other classes include, improvisation, arranging, history, theory, rhythm and aural. Performances are undertaken regularly throughout the course and the final year culminates in a professional recital.
