Commitment to Equality and Diversity

ECU strives to ensure people of all genders, ages, abilities, sexualities, faith and from different cultural backgrounds feel enabled, and are supported, to pursue careers in their chosen fields. This includes implementing a broad range of support initiatives dedicated to ensuring staff and students of all genders, with disabilities, from diverse cultures or faith and those who are LGBTIQ are well supported.

We are committed to creating an environment where equality and diversity is celebrated, and everyone has equal access and opportunities to achieve their potential. We are striving to remove barriers people face by continually making improvements to our practices and organisational culture. This includes promoting and encouraging gender equity activities and addressing any gender imbalances that may exist within the University, such as our participation in the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) Ltd. Athena SWAN Charter in Australia.
