Respect at Uni Week 2025

Edith Cowan University (ECU) has partnered with Curtin University, the University of Western Australia (UWA), Murdoch University, and Notre Dame University to host Respect at Uni Week. This year's event will take place from April 7 to April 11.

Respect at Uni Week, an initiative by the Victorian Tertiary Primary Prevention Network, aims to promote respect, equality, and inclusion across our campuses and online spaces.

Here are the scheduled events for Respect at Uni Week:

Tuesday 8 April
11:00am – 12:00pm
Real Talk: Discussing consent, porn and relationships (online webinar)

Did your sex-ed leave a lot to be desired? Sexologists and researchers Giselle Woodley (PhD Candidate at ECU and co-founder of Bloom Ed – a relationships and sexuality education advocacy group) and educator Jordina Quain (Curtin’s Relationships and Sexuality Education Project) discuss concepts, research findings and phenomena relating to consent, pornography, sex and relationships.

SHAG Trivia Night at Murdoch Tav
Join Consent Labs in this Sexual Health and Sassy trivia night. Hosted by Murdoch HASS Society and The Den at Murdoch Uni.

Thursday 10 April
10:00am & 11:30am

Rainbow Social at Bermuda Café (JO31.229) on Joondalup Campus
Come along to a safe, inclusive and welcoming space to connect with like-minded students and allies. All are welcome! Free drink voucher included with attendance.

No need to register, just come along.

Friday 11 April
12:30-1:30pm
Breaking Chains: Forced Marriage and Exploitation on Today's World (presented by UWA)

Join the Australian Federal Police's Kyla Guthrie for this webinar on forced marriage, human exploitation and modern slavery in today's world.

What does respect mean to you? Keep an eye out for the large RESPECT letters in Mt Lawley Library and add your post-it!
