Jake Garman
Jake Garman joined Edith Cowan University (ECU) as Dean, International Business Operations in 2016 and has been Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and Vice-President since October of 2022.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) reports to the Vice-Chancellor. It is a senior executive position with university-wide responsibility for: expanding the University’s global presence; driving engagement with international partners; developing and sustaining relationships that enable the University to globalise its operations; advancing ECU’s capability to operate internationally, grow international student enrolments and diversify its revenue base; building the ECU brand internationally; expanding mobility opportunities for students; and establishing the strategic vision for ECU's international engagement in a highly competitive global environment.
Jake Garman joined ECU from a career in academic leadership and university business development in the higher education sector. Before joining ECU, he held leadership roles at Macquarie University, the Murdoch Institute of Technology and Curtin University. He has been a board member of international education businesses and professional bodies. He holds post graduate qualifications from Charles Darwin University. In previous positions, Jake Garman has led large, multi-discipline tertiary pathway colleges.
