Background

After a 15-year career with the Commonwealth government, Shaz found the courage to pursue her dream to become a high school teacher. After completing her degree with ECU, Shaz then worked in South West high schools for 11 years before joining APP at ECU South West in UniPrep and as a UniPrep Schools Regional Coordinator. Shaz loves working alongside so many wonderful high schools in the region that she calls home.

Research Interests

  • Student self-efficacy and how self-belief and self-perceptions change with academic success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education Primary to Middle Years, Edith Cowan University, 2009.

Research Projects

  • Increasing Access and Opportunity: Nesting enabling programs in senior schooling, Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success, Large Grants Research Program 2024-25 Round, 2024 ‑ 2025, $120,410.
