Background

Amanda has over 15-years’ experience teaching across Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and has attained additional qualification to teach High School Science. Amanda also has a honours degree in psychology and a master’s degree in educational wellbeing. Her PhD explored the influence of a literacy-based text messaging program on home-based literacy learning practices. Amanda's academic interests are now in conducting research that focuses on exploring the transition from home-based literacy learning to school-based literacy learning amongst culturally diverse families within Western Australia, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
