Ms Gaye McMath

Ms Gaye McMath

Gaye McMath commenced as ECU’s sixth Chancellor on 27 August 2024. A member of ECU Council since 2022, and Chair of the University’s Quality Audit and Risk Committee, Gaye has extensive executive and governance experience and a comprehensive knowledge of the tertiary education sector. Her more than four-decade long career has seen her serve in a range of senior executive roles, including 23 years in the mining and resources sector and 15 years working in higher and international education. She is also an experienced non-executive director, having held board positions in a broad range of entities including listed companies, government trading enterprises and not-for-profit organisations.

In her 12 years as the Chief Operating Officer at the University of Western Australia, Gaye was involved in the development of UWA’s college row — a significant and successful project for the WA Minister for Education that contributed to all five WA universities, and resulted in 2000 PBSA being built in the city.

She contributed to the development of an international education strategy for WA, and was a board member of StudyPerth, working closely with all universities, the TAFE sector and private education providers. She also held the role of Pro-Vice-Chancellor Resources and CFO at Murdoch University for three years.

Gaye holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Business Administration from the Melbourne Business School. She has also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, is a Fellow of CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is a recipient of the AICD PWC NFP award for good governance in the not-for-profit sector.

Mr Michael Rundus

Mr Mike Rundus

Mr Michael Rundus is the Global Mining and Metals Robotic Process Automation Leader as well as the Oceania Mining and Metals Advisory Services Leader. He also leads the Western Australia Advisory Services team.

With over 20 years advisory experience, primarily in the mining sector, he has significant experience in global enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations, Robotics Process Automation (RPA), cyber security, risk management and internal audit. Michael has significant Australian and international experience having worked in the USA, Canada, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania and Papua New Guinea.

Vice-Chancellor

Professor Clare Pollock

Professor Clare Pollock

Professor Clare Pollock commenced her role as Vice-Chancellor and President of Edith Cowan University on 30 September 2024.

Prior to joining ECU, Professor Pollock was the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor (SDVC) and Provost at Western Sydney University (WSU) and served as WSU’s Interim Vice-Chancellor and President.  As SDVC she provided leadership across the twelve academic schools, as well as WSU’s pathway college, The Whitlam Institute and the offices of the University Secretary, General Counsel, Cybersecurity as well as Strategy, Performance & Risk.

Prior to her roles at WSU, Professor Pollock was Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students) at Flinders University and held several senior leadership positions at Curtin University, including Associate Provost, Chair of the Academic Board and Head of the School of Psychology and Speech Pathology.

Professor Pollock’s extensive expertise and achievements within her profession and in the higher education sector have been recognised through not only the various leadership roles she has held but also through her representation as a non-executive Director for several government, professional and community boards.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Professor Pollock graduated from Oxford University and the University of London with a PhD in Psychology. Her research career has focused on how psychology can be applied to improve safety, especially when it comes to people’s use of technology.

Associate Professor Madeleine Ogilvie

Associate Professor Madeleine Ogilvie

Associate Professor Madeleine Ogilvie is an Associate Professor in the field of Marketing in the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University. She has worked in the higher education sector for 24 years and most recently as Associate Dean Teaching and Learning in the School of Business and Law. She has coordinated, taught and developed programs across a range of different disciplines at both the national and international level and worked extensively in the International Education market. She has served on the Executive for the Australian Business Deans’ Council International Network and held roles including Associate Dean International and Client Manager China over her academic career. Madeleine is a registered TEQSA Expert and judge for the national Australian Awards for University Teaching.

Her major research interests are in the fields of semiotics, consumer research, visual research methodologies and new product development. Prior to working at ECU, Madeleine originally trained as a Registered Nurse at the Royal Melbourne Hospital before working extensively in the pharmaceutical industry for multinational organisations Roussel Uclaf, Novo Nordisk and Pharmacia in marketing and sales management roles. She has consulted for both public and private organisations on many facets of  marketing and management.

Dr Christine Cunningham was elected to University Council in September 2024 for a three-year term commencing 1 October 2024.

Mr Colin Watson

Mr Colin Watson

Prior to joining ECU Colin worked as a Cabin Crew Manager for Qantas, he spent 7 years with the company and occupied a variety of roles during this time. Colin joined ECU in July 2016 in the Student Services Directorate as a Course Information Adviser. Since joining Colin has held a variety of roles within the university, he is currently the School Manager within the School of Business and Law.

Enrolled Undergraduate Student

Kobe is an undergraduate student at Edith Cowan University Studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in environmental management. During his studies, Kobe has made the most of the wide array of educational experiences ECU has to offer. This includes working alongside local stakeholders in both Fiji (February 2024) and Bhutan (November 2024). Kobe has also spent time in northern Western Australia studying sustainable natural resource management and engaging with landowners.

Having used the ECU Uniprep pathway to begin his studies Kobe is an advocate for enabling the education of others. He is a speaker at orientation events for future students and spends time in mentorship programs.

Kobe is also an active member of his community and has spent time volunteering for local environmental and citizen science groups. Examples include Saving Our Snake Neck Turtles (SOSNT), a group dedicated to the protection of the threatened species of reptile. As well previously being an active participant in local coastal rehabilitation programs. Through volunteering opportunities Kobe has also been able to spend time assisting in drone activities related to geographic information systems.

Mr Damon Brown

Mr Damon Brown

Mr Damon Brown received his Bachelor of Business (Finance, Economics) in 2003 from Edith Cowan University and an MBA from UWA in 2008. Damon has over 20 years of experience in the Financial Services industry in corporate relations positions. Damon has been a sessional lecturer at ECU since 2019 teaching Financial Planning at the School of Business and Law. Being passionate about delivering quality higher education gives purpose to his position on Council.

Mr Robert Radley

Deputy Chancellor

Mr Robert Radley is a Partner at Oliver Wyman. Prior to this, Robert was Managing Partner of Azure Consulting (before its acquisition by Oliver Wyman), a Partner at Bain & Company, Partner & Perth Advisory Leader at PwC, and Managing Director of Poynton & Partners/GEM Consulting. He has been a management consultant for over 28 years before which he held senior management roles in information technology and R&D.

Robert has extensive strategy development, organisation transformation and performance improvement experience in a wide range of industry sectors. His consulting career has enabled him to work in Europe, North America, South America, South Africa, Asia and Australia.

Robert has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Rhodes University (South Africa), a Graduate Diploma & Master of Science in Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and a MBA (cum laude) from the Wits Business School. Robert attended the Executive Development Programme (EDP) at Cornell University (USA) in 2001. He a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Robert is the CSIRO appointed Director of Coogee Titanium, Director of AbilityWA, Director of Adcorp Holdings Australia (subsidiary of JSE listed Adcorp Group); a former Chairman of Azure Capital, and former Board member of Silver Chain & the Royal District Nursing Service of SA, Aquinas College and Autism West.

Ms Elizabeth Tylich

Ms Elizabeth Tylich

Ms Elizabeth Tylich is a commercial lawyer with over 18 years’ experience and a focus on regulatory and legislative compliance, statutory interpretation, contract drafting and advice and corporate governance. She has considerable experience in advising government, private companies, Universities and other education institutions and not-for-profit organisations on matters of statutory interpretation relating to their relevant governing statutory framework, but also in the areas of privacy, competition and consumer law and intellectual property.

Ms Tylich has served on ECU’s Legislative Committee since August 2015 and was appointed Chair of the Committee on 31 August 2022.
