Stakeholders

The healthcare, research, and clinical education conducted at the ECU Health Centre is built upon strong working relationships with a range of businesses, not-for-profits, local government, and corporate organisations working in the health and allied health area. ECU is interested in opportunities for new program and project collaborations at the ECU Health Centre.

Key ECU Health Centre stakeholders include:

IPN Medical Centres

IPN Medical Centres is the operator of the Wanneroo GP Super Clinic, on ECU’s behalf. IPN Medical Centres was selected to operate the Wanneroo GP Super Clinic due to their extensive experience in providing quality medical and health care, as well as in training the future health workforce through GP registrar training and graduate nursing programs.

Business Station

Business Station is a non-profit provider of enterprise development services to businesses in Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory. They aim to build growth and capacity in small businesses by providing affordable and easily accessible training and business support. ECU partners with Business Station in two incubators: Allied Health Precinct, at the ECU Health Centre; and ECU Business Innovation Centre (ECUBIC), in central Joondalup.

Wanneroo Adult Community Mental Health Services

NMHS Mental Health division operates the Wanneroo Adult Community Mental Health Service (WACMHS) hub in central Wanneroo, close to the ECU Health Centre. WACMHS clients are referred into relevant programs and services located at the ECU Health Centre, with a particular focus on chronic disease management, physical activity, and mental health.

School of Medical and Health Sciences

ECU School of Medical and Health Sciences (SMHS) offers a number of allied health disciplines which place students at the ECU Health Centre for clinical training. Undergraduate paramedicine students undertake clinical placements at the Wanneroo GP Super Clinic, while third and fourth year exercise physiology students lead the Physical Activity and Goal Motivation free exercise program. The Allied Health Precinct provides new clinical training opportunities in other allied health disciplines offered in SMHS, including speech pathology, nutrition and dietetics, and occupational therapy. SMHS has also conducted numerous research projects through the ECU Health Centre over the years, and is open to new research project collaborations with stakeholders.

School of Arts and Humanities

The School of Arts and Humanities operates the ECU Psychological Services Centre (PSC), which provides a range of high-quality, low-cost psychological services. The PSC provides the majority of required clinical training for the Master of Psychology. SAH also offers courses in social work and counselling, and students are available for clinical placements at a range of health providers at the ECU Health Centre and our stakeholder organisations. School of Nursing and Midwifery

ECU’s School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNM) offers Western Australia’s largest undergraduate nursing program, providing nursing graduates into our hospitals, health services, and private clinics. The Wanneroo GP Super Clinic hosts clinical placements for ECU’s nursing students, who often undertake their clinical training alongside paramedicine students. SNM has conducted many research projects through the ECU Health Centre, helping to raise the research profile and output of the Centre.
