Student support

Student Hub

Student Hub is the first point of enquiry for all student questions. They provide a range of student support services and advice, ranging from enquiry handling and referrals, to advice on student administration processes relating to progress in your studies at ECU:

  • Course information and advice relating to course plans, unit selection and nominating majors or minors
  • Assistance with resolution of enrolment complications e.g. prerequisite waivers, timetable clashes and full unit activities
  • Course completion advice, including extensions to deadlines
  • Identify and assist students who require access to academic support
  • Assistance with complex resume a course processes
  • Identify potential graduates
  • Locating your lecture theatre or other teaching rooms on campus
  • Enrolment or academic progress, including obtaining copies of academic transcripts and special letters
  • Advice on how to access services available to you as an ECU student
  • Receipt and processing of all student administration forms
  • Information and processing of requests for study abroad, student exchange and cross institutional study opportunities
  • Taking on-campus payments
  • Advice on how to obtain an ID card, parking permit and access cards

Regional Learning Hubs

Regional Learning Hubs provide support options for online students and a space to get together. Through local sessions, students have the opportunity to meet other students and ECU’s Learning Hub Officers who can assist with assignments, provide technical support or simply be someone to talk to about your studies.

Regional Learning Hubs offer:

  • A mix of weekly face-to-face and peer support
  • Regular student networking opportunities
  • Online support using email and social media
  • Occasional lectures by ECU professors and academic staff

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Student Support

ECU's Kurongkurl Katitjin, Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research provide dedicated resources and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students' studying at ECU. There is a Student Support Team whose role is to assist Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students who through their university journey and assist with any issues that may arise and affect their studies along the way. The team is predominately based on the Mount Lawley campus in Perth with visits to the Southwest for student events and activities.

Nala Karla Student Room - 7.101

The Nala Karla room is a dedicated study and relaxation area for the University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.The student common room is equipped with computers and a printer. It is also furnished with lounges, a dining table, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities and large display screens to assist with tutorial or information sessions.

Pride Room

The pride room provides a safe place to relax, communicate, eat and connect with people from the queer community and it's allies. To gain access to the Pride room, see Reception in Building 1 .

Multi-Faith Reflection Room

ECU South West provides a spiritual space for staff and students of any faith, with facilities on campus. We value and respect our students and staff faith and traditions as members of ECU's dynamic, multicultural and Multifaith community.
