ECU has joined forces with UniSuper in its continued support of career progression opportunities to address some of the barriers faced in the workplace relating to career breaks.
UniSuper kindly has funded two professional development funds of $2,500 each for ECU staff and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Steve Chapman CBE, presented certificates to the recipients on the Joondalup campus in a formal ceremony in the Council Chambers Foyer on 22 November 2017.
ECU’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships), Professor Cobie Rudd noted the recent launch of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s 2016-2017 dataset and highlighted some of the latest statistics.
“Overall men earn $26K more than women in Australia (full-time). This impacts financial independence and can be further compounded by extended periods of leave form the workforce for childcare or carer roles”.
Many members of the ECU community were present to celebrate the achievements of the recipients, reflective of the continued engagement and ongoing support of the Athena SWAN agenda at ECU.
We congratulate:
