Herdy's Frontyard Ultra

An extraordinary challenge for an incredible cause

On 21 March Professor Paulo de Souza, Executive Dean, Engineering will tackle the world's largest backyard ultramarathon to raise $60,000 for ECU students in financial need.

An avid ultra marathon runner matched only by his dedication to supporting students, Paulo will push his limits in the Herdy’s Frontyard Ultra, embarking on his biggest community fundraising effort yet!

Let’s make a difference and help Paulo create 20 life-changing Inspiring Minds scholarships. Every dollar counts!

To help Paulo reach his goal, we're seeking support from local businesses. In return, we would like to promote your business!

This could include:

  • Acknowledgement as a donor of this campaign on ECU's website
  • A talk from Paulo sharing his experiences at your workplace (available for donations of $3,000 for a full scholarship or more)

Herdy's Frontyard Ultra

Herdy's Frontyard Ultra

Not for the fainthearted, the Herdy's Frontyard Ultra is the ultimate test of endurance attracting elite athletes from around the globe.

Competitors run a gruelling 6.71km loop around Herdsman Lake, on the hour every hour until only one person remains.

In 2024, the Herdys Frontyard Ultra winner competed for 53 hours to take the title!!

The Inspiring Minds Equity Scholarship Fund supports students who may have experienced financial difficulties, personal hardships or come from underrepresented backgrounds. Your donation can help deserving students finish their degrees and realise their potential.
