"This scholarship allows me to become the best researcher I can possibly be."
Destination Australia – an Australian Government initiative - funded 25 scholarships in 2023 for full-time students undertaking their studies at ECU's South West Campus. The scholarships provide students with the opportunity to explore a unique life outside metropolitan cities while undertaking a world-class tertiary education. Successful recipients receive $7,500 per semester for the duration of their course.
"Thank you so much for awarding me the Destination Australia Scholarship. This funding means a lot to me as an International student from a financially unstable background pursuing a Doctorate degree that focuses on empowering young girls on the margins of society.
This funding allows me to focus on my studies without worrying about the financial implications of some of the activities that I have to undertake in order to effectively pursue my studies (workshops, research training, conferences, and travel) and become the best researcher I can possibly be. This scholarship will also enable me to upgrade my tech, something that did not seem possible in the immediate future, but is necessary and vital for my studies.
Thank you so much!"
