2025 ECU Sri Lanka Undergraduate Deans Scholarship for Academic Achievement

The ECU Sri Lanka Undergraduate Deans Scholarship for Academic Achievement is offered to students who commence studies at the ECU Sri Lanka campus and select ECU undergraduate courses in 2025. This scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved at least an 85% WAM in their first teaching period of their degree. Applicants must be enrolled full-time, have completed four units during their first teaching period, and be commencing their second teaching period in the year 2025. The scheme offers a 10% reduction in tuition fees for ECU units undertaken for the duration of their course of study at ECU’s campus in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

At a glance

  • Applicants can be either domestic(Sri Lankan citizens) or International full-time students commencing their second teaching period in 2025, starting in either February 2025, July 2025, or in November 2025.
  • This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who have achieved at least an 85% WAM and completed four units in their first teaching period.
  • The financial assistance will be offered for the duration of their course undertaken at ECU Sri Lanka.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a domestic(Sri Lankan citizen) or International full-time student studying at ECU’s campus in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
  • Not be in receipt of a government scholarship or industry sponsorship.
  • Meet ECU’s “high achievement” criteria, including maintain full time continuous study load and maintaining a WAM of 85% or above; and
  • Meet ECU’s academic and English language entry requirements for the select course and any other applicable admission requirements imposed by ECU’s statutes, by-laws, rules and policies and procedures.

Terms and conditions

The following ongoing conditions apply to this scholarship:

  • The scholarship recipient must continue to meet the eligibility guidelines and these terms and conditions at the time of applying and throughout their period of study to which this scholarship applies.
  • The scholarship recipient must be in continuous good standing academically (green status) and financially.
  • The scholarship cannot be used on repeated units.
  • Student WAM and study load will be calculated at the conclusion of each teaching period. Should a scholarship recipient fail to meet the required WAM or study load to maintain the scholarship, ECU reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship, upon written notice.
  • The scholarship recipients must maintain full time continuous study load and maintain a WAM of 85% or above.
  • Course transfers are not permitted without ECU’s permission (permission may be withheld by ECU in its absolute discretion).
  • The scholarship discount can only be used for tuition fees, and cannot be used for any other student expense. The discount will be applied on a unit-by-unit basis at the relevant census date.
  • A Student who receives this scholarship will not be entitled to apply for credit for recognition of prior learning in relation to the Course.
  • The scholarship cannot be transferred to any other ECU location, ACBT or any other partner organisation, or to another university or education provider.
  • The scholarship recipient must pay their tuition fees within the stipulated payment deadlines, failure to do so may negate the scholarship and the tuition fee structure will revert to full-fee payment.
  • The scholarship can be revoked if the recipient does not accept their Letter of Offer or enrol in their course by the date specified or is found guilty of academic misconduct or any form of misconduct during their studies
  • The commencement of the scholarship cannot be deferred.
  • The scholarship recipient may be ineligible for the scholarship if they are in receipt of a government scholarship, industry sponsorship, or another ECU scholarship or grant during the term of the scholarship. This is at the discretion of ECU.
  • The scholarship recipient must comply with any applicable requirements under ECU’s statutes, rules, by-laws, policies, procedures or other similar instruments.
  • The scholarship recipient must comply with any applicable Sri Lankan visa requirements (applicable to international students studying at ECU SL).
  • The recipient must notify ECU of any change of circumstances that may affect their ongoing eligibility to receive the scholarship.

All scholarships are awarded at ECU’s discretion. ECU reserves the right to revoke the scholarship at any stage if a student is found to have provided information that is misleading, does not meet the scholarship eligibility criteria (including ECU’s standard and specific admission requirements), or does not comply with the ongoing conditions of the scholarship.

ECU reserves the right to decline to award scholarships if, in its opinion, there are no suitable applicants. The number of scholarships to be awarded shall be at ECU’s sole discretion. This scholarship may be withdrawn from offering by ECU at any time.

How to apply

If we approve your ECU course application, you’ll automatically be assessed for this scholarship by our Admissions Office after results release date of the first teaching period. No separate scholarship application is required.

The Admissions Office will issue a separate letter relating to your scholarship for you to confirm.
