The D'Arcy Slater Foundation was established after the death of 13 year old D'Arcy Slater at Guildford Grammar School. D'Arcy a strong academic represented GGS in the Maths Olympiad, Chess and was awarded a Distinction in the Westpac Maths Competition receiving an Academic honour on Speech night. A keen sportsman D'Arcy was elected the year 7 sports monitor, played tennis and football for GGS and was on the swim team. As an only child D'Arcy was an outgoing boy who enjoyed the company of his friends, the horse industry and was an enthusiast in all aspects of life. The prime aim of the Foundation is to provide Australian youth with a means to realise their aspirations and potential in education, sport, music, the arts and to provide domestic training in all fields. There are 2 scholarships available valued at $3000 each.
