Destination Australia Scholarships

Destination Australia – an Australian Government initiative have made available 17 scholarships for full time students commencing studies at ECU South West Campus in an eligible Diploma, Bachelor or Postgraduate course in 2024. There are 4 Scholarships available to domestic students and 13 available to international students in 2024. Students who previously studied in a course at the same level at ECU will not be eligible. Students who have previously completed Uni Prep or VET courses who are now enrolled in a Diploma or Undergraduate course are eligible to apply. Students who previously completed an Undergraduate course who are now enrolled in a Postgraduate course are eligible to apply. The scholarships will provide students with the opportunity to explore a unique life outside metropolitan cities while undertaking a world-class tertiary education. Successful recipients will receive $7500 per semester for the duration of their course.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or International student visa holder (subclass 500);
  • have commenced or will be commencing an eligible Diploma, Undergraduate or Postgraduate course at ECU South West Campus in 2024.
    • Students who previously studied in a course at the same level at ECU will not be eligible. 
    • Students who have previously completed Uni Prep, VET or Diploma courses who are now enrolled in an Undergraduate course are eligible to apply.
    • Students who previously completed an Undergraduate course who are now enrolled in a Postgraduate course are eligible to apply;
  • be studying full time (60 credit points per Semester) at the ECU South West Campus;
  • have a current progression status of  GREEN;
  • be studying one of the following eligible degrees:

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing these questions:

  • Why have you chosen to study your selected degree?
  • How would receiving a Destination Australia Scholarship to study at ECU South West Campus benefit you?

Successful applicants will be required to sign a Scholarship Acceptance which will detail further conditions.

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee. Selection will be based on:
