Dentons Aspire Law Scholarship

The Dentons Aspire Law Scholarship has kindly been donated by Dentons, the largest global law firm in the world. Dentons are passionate about diversity equity and inclusion and believe in the power of education to transform lives. To honour this commitment, Dentons are proud to support a deserving student undertaking a Bachelor in the field of Law at ECU in 2025 with financial support. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 and will be paid to the successful recipient as $5,000 per semester for 2 semesters.

This scholarship is open to current ECU law students and encourages applications from;

  • students from low socio-economic backgrounds
  • students with a disability, chronic illness, medical conditions and/or mental health conditions
  • students with caring responsibilities / people with experience of out-of-home care
  • students from rural or regional areas of Australia
  • LGBTIQA+ students
  • students impacted by family and domestic violence
  • students who are the first in their family to attend university

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen;
  • be residing in Western Australia;
  • be enrolled in an Bachelor of Laws;
  • have an academic progression status of GREEN;
  • be studying minimum of 30 credit points;
  • be able to provide evidence of financial hardship; and
  • not currently be in receipt of any major scholarships of more than $5000 per annum or a full ECU Equity Scholarship.

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing the below;

  • Describe your career aspirations within the Legal Industry.
  • Describe your personal circumstances which have had a significant impact on your capacity to study and outline how receiving the scholarship will help you achieve these goals.

Selection Process

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee. Selection will based on:

  • Demonstrated need and content of personal statement
