The Dr Heather Zampatti Excellence in Dance Scholarships

Generously donated by Dr Heather Zampatti, these scholarships have been established to acknowledge and support exemplar students within Dance. Eligible applicants will be assessed on Achievement, Work Ethic and Ambition. There are 2 scholarships available valued at $12,500.

Eligibility guidelines

In order to be eligible you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident;
  • have and maintain an academic progression status of GREEN;
  • not currently be in receipt of another scholarship over $5,000 per annum;
  • have completed the Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite performance) or, 1st year of Bachelor of Arts (Dance); and
  • be enrolled full time (60 credit point minimum requirement for Bachelor) in one of the below courses:
    • Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance;  or
    • Bachelor of Arts (Dance) 2nd year only

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing the following;

    How do you see your future within the dance profession, and how do you intend to pursue or realise that ambition?

Selection Process

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee. Selection will based on:

  • Ambition - content of Personal Statement
  • Achievement - consideration of the student's general engagement with the course, their final marks and demonstrated improvement over the year
  • Work Ethic -  consideration of the student's ability to apply themselves consistently, to take feedback, be self-motivated and considerate of their peers
