ECU International Scholarships

Welcome to ECU International scholarships. Our scholarships reward you financially by assisting you in gaining a world-class education. Our academic scholarships provide you with up to a 20% reduction off your tuition fees.

All our international academic scholarships are assessed automatically at the time of application, making it easier for you to apply direct into your course and to be assessed for a scholarship at the same time. If you have been successful, our Admissions Office will issue a separate letter relating to your scholarship, along with a Letter of Offer for your course.

Introducing our range of scholarships for international students. Available to new international students studying on-campus and commencing in 2025.

Western Australian Premier's University Scholarship

This scholarship program provides a one-off $50,000 scholarship to eligible international students to use towards course fees and other university costs. Upon completion of this scholarship, recipients will receive a 100% ECU tuition fee scholarship for the remainder of their candidature. To be eligible, you must be undertaking full-time studies in a postgraduate research course (minimum two years) commencing in Semester 1, 2025 or with a start date after 1 January 2025, applicable to your course of study (for PhD students).

Scholarships for 2025

Student Visa Application Fee Offset Bursary

This bursary is open to prospective international non-award students who only study at Edith Cowan University for 1 semester or 1 year starting in 2025.

It offers a one-off payment of $800 to offset the recent student visa application fee price increase.

Western Australian Premier's WACE Bursary

This bursary provides successful international Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) graduates with a total payment of $20,000 towards their living, travel and study expenses. To be eligible, you must have completed your WACE at an approved offshore SCSA school within 24 months of submitting an application for the Western Australian Premier's WACE Bursary or be an offshore Year 12 WACE student who is on track to complete their WACE within the next 12 months; and accept your offer with course duration of a minimum of one-year as an international student, with full-time studies commencing in the 2024 or 2025 academic year.

2025 International Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship offers international students from selected countries a 20 percent reduction in tuition fees for the duration of their course at Edith Cowan University. The scholarship is open to international students seeking to enrol in a bachelor's degree in Semester 1 or Semester 2, 2025.

2025 Australian Qualification International Scholarship

This scholarship is open to international students from all nationalities who have previously completed an Australian education program – within or outside of Australia – and are seeking to enrol at ECU in a bachelor's degree or master's by coursework in Semester 1 or Semester 2, 2025. The scholarship offers a 20 percent reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the course.

2025 International Masters Scholarship

This master's scholarship is open to international students from selected countries who are applying for nominated master's degrees at ECU. Recipients will receive a 20 percent reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the course. Applicants must be enrolling at ECU in Semester 1 or Semester 2, 2025.

General Scholarship Questions

No, higher degree by research students (Masters by Research, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)) are not eligible for any of our scholarships or bursaries. You may wish to refer to the opportunities listed on the Scholarship Overview for any existing, higher degree by research scholarships offered by ECU.

All scholarships are assessed automatically by our Admissions department at the time of you (or your agent) submitting an application to ECU. If you are assessed as eligible for a scholarship and offer, it will be listed on the front page of the ECU offer letter.

Only students who meet the exact eligibility criteria will receive a scholarship. Please refer to an individual scholarship’s eligibility criteria for further information on why you may not have received a scholarship.

No, you can only receive one scholarship at any time. You can however receive a scholarship plus a bursary at the same time. Any bursaries that are offered will be listed on this scholarship page and have “bursary” in the title.
