Welcome to ECU's School of Arts and Humanities

The School of Arts and Humanities exists to advance social justice. We seek to achieve more equal and positive social relations; to foster the realisation of individual human potential; and to enable diverse creative expression. We work for and with the creative and caring professions who employ our graduates and whose development we guide through research.

Staff and students work together to increase the stores of human, social, and cultural capital to achieve a more just and inclusive society. We work with clear recognition that humans must respect, and sustain ourselves within, the natural environment.

Whether as a scholar, a student, or an industry partner, we welcome you to join our community as we listen to and tell the important stories of the world, stories that speak to the potential for and necessity of positive change to transform lives and enrich society.
