BOOTY and the BUTTS Show by Yvette Dunn-Moses is a video installation and performance that looks at female body politics. She appreciates the resilience of women, looking at trauma and desire associated with one’s body image. These artworks dramatize the blurry line between vanity and insanity.
This hyperbolic performance is a masquerade of the idealized perceptions related to the female hourglass body shape on social media. Particularly placing emphasis on the current trend of buttock augmentation. Dunn-Moses mimics the Victorian woman’s bustle, emphasising the disparity between the natural shape and the artificial body.
