Alix is the Creative Industries Engagement Adviser within the School of Arts and Humanities.

Background

Before joining ECU in 2023, Alix built a diverse career in the arts and hospitality industries. With over a decade of experience managing bars and hotels, she discovered her passion for the arts and decided to pursue this dream by enrolling in university. After earning her BA, Alix secured a role at a commercial gallery in Sydney, quickly rising to the position of Client Service Manager.

While advancing her career, Alix returned to university to complete a Master's degree, followed by a Doctorate. Her research focuses on street art and graffiti, with a particular emphasis on female artists and the transformative power of art in turning spaces into places.

From 2023 to 2024, Alix served as the ECU Galleries Officer for Gallery25 and Spectrum Project Space within the School of Arts and Humanities. During her tenure, she worked with curators and artists to facilitate 36 exhibitions, significantly contributing to the vibrancy and impact of ECU Galleries.
