Karen is a Lecturer and clinical supervisor in the Undergraduate and Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy program within the School of Arts and Humanities.
Karen is an Individual, Couple and Family Therapist at the Elizabeth Centre in Nedlands, specialising in perinatal and infant mental health. She sees mothers and babies, young children, adolescents as well as couples and families. She has a history of working for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS), Relationships Australia, the Sexual Assault Referral Centre and the Ability Centre. She set up and under fives program within CAMHS. Karen trained in Couple and Family Therapy at the William Street Family Therapy Centre and perinatal infant mental health at the Institute of Psychiatry in New South Wales. Karen has been involved with the ECU Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy Program since 2005 initially providing clinical placement supervision to students. She is now a lecturer and clinical supervisor on the program. Karen has a particular interest in reflective clinical supervision.
Karen is interested in the areas of childhood and adolescent mental health, perinatal infant mental health, couple and family therapy and clinical supervision.
