Shane Rogers is a lecturer in the psychology discipline within the School of Arts and Humanities, Edith Cowan University. His research focusses on understanding the inter-related topics of human communication and general psychological wellbeing.
Recently, he has been exploring communication experiences with emerging virtual reality technologies. Additionally, he has been examining further applications of a brief emotional wellbeing measure he created (The Brief Emotional Experience Scale), most recently exploring the utility of this measure as a mental health screening tool in schools.
Shane earned his PhD in 2015 at The University of Western Australia. During his time there he was heavily involved with statistics teaching in the undergraduate program and was recognised with several teaching awards. He continues to have a keen interest in both developing psychological methods, and teaching on the subject. He has been the unit coordinator for the Learning, Memory and Cognition unit since 2016.
