Biography
I began studies at Curtin University in 1974 (then WAIT). I completed my Master of Commerce (Taxation) at Curtin in 2004 and was awarded a PhD in Taxation Law from the UNSW in 2013. It is noted that the majority of my studies have been completed externally. I also hold Diplomas in Accounting (TAFE 1983) and Real Estate Management (TAFE 1989).
In addition to being the proprietor and licensee of a real estate and business practice, I was a resident tax practitioner in the Northwest of Western Australia for around 20 years from 1988.
In 2005 I designed and constructed WA's first privately owned, commercial solar farm. That project has an integrated ice-works to demonstrate how solar energy can be applied in industry. The project is named ‘the Solex Project’.
The Solex Project in Carnarvon forms the research basis for my studies into taxation and its impact on the Sustainability Development Framework (TBL) in particular into combatting greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution.
