Biography

I hold a PhD in Management from Murdoch University and have an MBA in Higher Education Management, an MPhil in Environmental Science, and an Honours degree in Environmental Science.

I have taught various management topics including foundations of management and governance, organisational behaviour, organisational design and culture, and career preparation. I have also taught under- and post-graduate research methods.

I research in the field of gender equity, and organisational career management, including within higher education. I apply a sociological lens to career theory to extend thinking on how individuals establish and manage their careers within organisational structures and power relationships. I publish in top career journals including Gender, Work and Organisation, Studies in Higher Education, and Career Development International where I am also a Senior Editor. I am on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management.

I am a Non-Executive Director of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, a Chartered Fellow and Certified Practising Manager of IML.
