Sonja is a lecturer in the School of Business and Law and teaches in the Work-Integrated Learning (SBL WIL) program, facilitating placement and internship students’ development of employability. The WIL program is an award-winning work-based program where students participate in micro-placements, work placements and internships hosted by community or industry partners. Sonja is a qualitative researcher, engaged with research teams in projects across various disciplines in the School of Business and Law related to authentic assessment (Marketing), curriculum design (Accounting), and enterprise capabilities (transdisciplinary) as well as the educational potential of Artificial Intelligence for WIL students.
Biography
Sonja has a wealth of experience as a learning facilitator, she has taught and coordinated a diverse range of academic and placement-based units and courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels spanning from 1999 to 2016. Before her move to Perth in 2017, Sonja leveraged her doctoral research on career development and teacher resilience to successfully re-design the curriculum for internship students at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Since 2018, she served as a member of the Assurance of Learning Team. Transitioning back to academia in 2020, she took on additional responsibilities as a sessional academic within the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) team.
