Dr Terence Chia is an early career academic in Management at the School of Business and Law.
Biography
Terence received his PhD in Management at UWA and he is passionate about research on topics such as leadership, culture, and organisation context, and investigates how these variables can influence employee wellbeing and team performance.
Terence also graduated with a Master of Psychology (Industrial and Organisational Psychology) with Distinction at UWA and is a registered Psychologist. He adopts the identity of a Scientist-Practitioner in his engagements with industry. Integrating science and practice, Terence worked as an Organisational Development Specialist at various not-for-profit organisations in Perth metropolitan, state government health care organisations, and consulted to a mining company where he reviewed existing leadership frameworks and provided recommendations on how they can build a strong inclusive leadership capability at all levels of the organisation.
Prior to his PhD, Terence had six years of HR experience having worked across different HR functions (Organisational Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Relations, Employment and Recruitment, and HR Systems).
