Mr Toby Nisbet is a Lecturer in the School of Business and Law.
Toby began teaching as a sessional lecturer in the School of Law and Justice (as it then was) in 2008, before commencing work as a full time lecturer in January 2010. Toby currently teaches Criminal Law and Constitutional in the School of Business and Law. Since graduating from UWA in 2002, Toby has worked at Fisheries WA and in community legal centres, most notably at the Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre. Toby practised in family, civil, public housing and criminal law. Toby was the managing solicitor of the Joondalup branch of the Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre prior to moving into academia. Toby currently serves on the board of management for the Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre, where he continues his commitment as the Secretary.
Toby has a strong interest in criminal, constitutional and environmental law, and has written significant articles on these topics. He is passionate about justice, the environment, and structures that promote good governance. He is also passionate about teaching, and takes pleasure in the success of his students. Outside of his work life, Toby enjoys yoga, poetry, and spending quality time with his family.
