Rachel is a Senior Research Officer for the School of Business and Law.
Rachel comes to ECU after spending the past five years at Colorado Community Colleges as an Adjunct Faculty member. Her recent focus has been in student-centred online education, where she taught Introductory and Deviance/ Crime Sociology courses, but also trained faculty in effective course design and best practices. Her commitment to excellence in adult education is underscored by earning a certificate in effective instruction from the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) and completion of the Equity in Instruction Leadership Academy training. This specialized training emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic environments. She was a Community College of Aurora’s Dr. Linda and Roger Bowman Award nominee in 2020, a student-nominated award in teaching excellence, and sat on the committee for programmatic assessment for the Department of Sociology at Community College of Aurora. Rachel has a diverse background in research and teaching, from Marketing Research to teaching yoga to training in the airline industry.
She recently moved to Perth from Colorado with her West Aussie husband, and has a keen interest in travel, reading, and anything that involves adventuring outdoors.
