Dr Jaime Yong is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Law.

Biography

With extensive experience teaching subjects across finance, investments, economics and statistics in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, Jaime is passionate in developing capabilities and skills for future finance professionals. She currently teaches units in financial principles, corporate finance and financial modelling.

Jaime was awarded her PhD from ECU for her research on securitised real estate investments and quantitative finance modelling of property valuation methods. She has published papers on real estate investments, asset pricing, risk modelling, financial markets, corporate governance, and financial behaviours in internationally-refereed journals such as Accounting and Finance, Global Finance Journal and The North American Journal of Economics and Finance, among others.

Jaime has previously held director and coordinator roles at the school for finance and banking programs, higher degrees and research, and the MBA program. Prior to academia, she has worked in hospitality, financial consulting and banking in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.

She is a member of the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute, and the Australian Shareholders’ Association (ASA). Jaime also volunteers as the academic mentor for the annual CFA Research Challenge global competition, and the ECU Finance and Accounting Society’s Student Managed Investment Fund.
