Victoria Cuarteroz is a 2023 Mannkal Scholar
Fourth year Bachelor of Laws and Commerce student Victoria Cuarteroz is thrilled to have been announced as a 2023 Mannkal Scholar by the Mannkal Economic Education Foundation.
The scholarship is open to Western Australian students studying any degree and major and involves attending seminars and events, and undertaking entrepreneurship training. Scholars also have the opportunity to attend conferences and apply for internships within Australia and abroad.
Victoria is majoring in accounting and developed an enthusiasm for economics while studying with Dr Ghialy Yap. Victoria said that the unit was focussed on applying economics in life and helped her to realise how important developing a high level of understanding of economics will be through her career.
Victoria heard about Mannkal from Dr Yap, started attending regular seminars and was inspired to apply for the Mannkal Scholarship Program.
Victoria said that she was looking forward to learning more about economics and to making the most of the incredible benefits available to her. ‘I look forward to bringing honour to ECU and hope that other students will follow me and have access to the same opportunities as I have.’
