On Friday, February 16th, the ECU School of Business and Law came alive with vibrant colours, flavours, and festivities as staff members gathered to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Embracing the rich tapestry of cultural diversity within the School, this special occasion marked a moment of unity and appreciation for traditions from around the world.
The School's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment was on full display as staff came together for a celebratory lunch featuring an array of authentic Chinese dishes from local restaurant Chinese Orchid BBQ Noodle Bar.
Special Year of the Dragon treats were gifted adding a touch of sweetness to the festivities. These thoughtful gestures not only added to the celebratory atmosphere but also served as tokens of appreciation for the School's dedicated staff members.
Professor Maryam Omari, Executive Dean of the ECU School of Business and Law, emphasised the significance of such events in promoting cultural awareness and understanding. "Celebrating the Lunar New Year allows us to embrace and honour the diverse cultures represented within our School community. By fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect, we strengthen the bonds that unite us as a community," she said.
The Lunar New Year celebration served as testament to the School's commitment to creating an environment where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and supported. By coming together to commemorate this auspicious occasion, staff members reaffirmed their dedication to fostering a sense of belonging and cultural appreciation within the School.
