Executive Dean, Professor Maryam Omari and the Prize Winners
On Tuesday, 24 September, ECU School of Business and Law celebrated academic excellence at our annual Student Prize Ceremony 2024. The event drew a full house as students, families, and sponsors gathered to recognise the outstanding achievements of students who earned the top marks in 2023.
The ceremony kicked off with a heartfelt welcome speech from the Executive Dean of the School of Business and Law, Professor Maryam Omari. She spoke passionately about the hard work and dedication that the students had shown throughout their studies, also noting the outstanding support provided by the teaching and non-teaching staff.
Following the ceremony, students had an opportunity and mingle amongst industry leaders as the networking and canapes commenced. This was a great opportunity for the prize winners to connect with potential future employers —many of whom were sponsors of the prizes. Conversations flowed as they exchanged insights, ambitions, and advice.
The annual SBL Prize Ceremony is more than just an event; it is a celebration and recognition of potential and hard work.
"We couldn't be more proud of our students for their amazing achievements in 2023. We're excited to see all that they accomplish after graduation as they continue to set a great example for their peers and reflect positively on our School." Said Professor Maryam Omari.
A special thank you goes out to our sponsors for their generous support of the event and our students. Their commitment to recognising excellence is truly appreciated and helps nurture the business and law leaders of tomorrow.
