On Thursday, 19 September 2024, ECU School of Business and Law hosted an engaging research event titled "Innovation in the Perth Northern Corridor Ecosystem: Conversion Strategies and Generative AI." Held at ECU's Joondalup campus, the event attracted a full house of industry and research professionals eager to explore the latest advancements in innovation ecosystems and cutting-edge AI technologies.
Organised by ECU’s Marketing, Innovation, Sport and Entrepreneurship (MISE) and Business Competitiveness (BC) Research Clusters, the evening showcased key research initiatives aimed at enhancing industry-university collaboration, leveraging AI technology in business, and boosting WA’s competitive edge in innovation.
The event kicked off with a series of thought-provoking presentations focusing on three core topics:
Distinguished speakers included some of ECU’s own researchers: Prof. Peter Galvin, Dr. Muhammad Alam, Dr. Jalleh Sharafizad, A/Professor Suku Sukunesan, and Dr. Ahmad Khanfar provided unique perspectives on the integration of AI and innovation within business practices. Their presentations were followed by a panel discussion on the importance of fostering deeper collaboration between academia and industry.
After the talks, attendees took the opportunity to network with fellow professionals and academics over light refreshments. The event demonstrated ECU’s commitment to driving innovation and supporting local industries through research excellence.
