ECU School of Business and Law (SBL) has taken an exciting step towards promoting sustainable business with the launch of its new Centre for Sustainability and Governance Research (CSGR).
The centre launched 17 October at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, supported by the Industry Capability Network WA and Massey Business School’s Sustainability Research Hub. Guests at the launch were inspired by discussions on how the CSGR plans to bridge the gap between research and industry needs, aiming to make a real difference.
CSGR will focus on three key research areas:
With businesses facing growing challenges, the launch comes at the perfect time. CSGR aims to find practical solutions to reduce environmental footprints and tackle inequality through smarter business practices. It’s an exciting step forward in SBL’s mission to create meaningful change through impactful research.
Professor Gabriel Eweje, Director of CSGR, shared his excitement:
“We have high expectations that the research produced by this Centre will drive innovative solutions that businesses and communities can adopt to address societal grand challenges, and foster sustainability, good governance, and ethical practices.” He said.
“This is a key step in using our expertise at SBL to create a more fair and sustainable future.”
The CSGR’s goal is to help businesses find a balance between sustainability and responsible management, creating a long-term, positive impact. It will be a space for academics, industry leaders, and policymakers to collaborate and shape the future of business and governance.
This initiative reflects SBL’s commitment to driving research excellence and sustainable development.
