Principle 6: Dialogue

Through events, SBL PRME has raised awareness of SDGs and sustainable business practices broadly. This included:

Yarning Circle

An important process within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, a yarning circle is a harmonious, creative and collaborative way of communicating to encourage responsible, respectful and honest interactions between participants, while building trusting relationships.

The event provided a platform for students, academics and professional staff from across the University to discuss and debate the topic of ‘Green HRM and Sustainability’ in a safe and inclusive environment.

Developing Your Social Entrepreneurship Mindset

The School held a special event called ‘Developing Your Social Entrepreneurship Mindset’, in collaboration with Enactus ECU.  With an attendance of 35 participants, the event fostered rich discussions between students, staff, industry representatives and community members raising awareness on SDGs.

A key outcome of this event was the development of a new collaborative project between Enactus ECU and the City of Joondalup to address gaps in social and environmental outcomes in the local community.
