About IACTS

The International Association for China Tourism Studies (IACTS) was co-founded in 2015 by a group of academics devoted to China tourism research in mainland China, Hong Kong, Australia, UK, and US. IACTS envisages itself as an international academic association that acknowledges the growing importance of China tourism research and the increasing knowledge contribution of China tourism scholars to the tourism scholarship worldwide.

IACTS endeavours to:

  1. promote ethical, rigorous, and quality research practices in China tourism research;
  2. advance tourism knowledge with theoretical developments in the Chinese contexts;
  3. encourage international collaborations and scholarly exchange activities among its members to publish quality research in international journals;
  4. bridge the communication between tourism research community in China and international tourism research community;
  5. provide cutting-edge methodological training, career guidance and counselling to next-generation China tourism researchers; and,
  6. provide knowledge-based consulting services to governments, industry and international organisations.

IACTS currently has 35 Fellow members and 4 Outstanding Young Scholar (OYS) members. IACTS members come from China, Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
