Background

Dr Hailian Gao is a sessional lecturer with the School of Management at University of South Australia (UniSA) in Adelaide. She gained Bachelor of Management in Tourism from China University of Geosciences in Beijing, China, and a Master of Management degree in Tourism from the same university. Dr. Gao’s master studies involved working with China University of Geosciences Geopark (Geoheritages) Investigation and Evaluation Center for tourism consultancy (mainly in the areas of Tourism Planning, Destination Management and Development) and research. Her Ph.D. in School of Management from University of South Australia focused on Chinese cultural values and tourist shopping behaviour, especially Chinese outbound tourists. Dr. Gao’s work has been published in leading academic journals such as Tourism Management and Tourism Management Perspectives.
