Dr Honglei Zhang is an Associate Professor at the School of Geographic and Oceanographic Sciences, Nanjing University. He earned his PhD in Geography (Tourism Geography and Tourism Planning) from Nanjing University.
Dr Zhang’s research focuses on tourism geographies and tourist behaviour, with special emphasis on tourism transport, spatial analysis, and tourism constraints. He has published more than 20 academic articles in a variety of top-tier peer-reviewed journals such as Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, and International Journal of Hospitality Management. His academic work has been recognised by a number of awards, including the 7th Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements (Humanities & Social Sciences) of Higher Education Institutions by the Ministry of Education, China and Outstanding Tourism Research Achievements by China National Tourism Administration. He also serves as a reviewer for tourism and hospitality journals including Tourism Management, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Current Issues of Tourism and Journal of Leisure Research, among others.
