The MARS Centre hosted a small event at the ECU City Hub in May 2024, welcoming approximately forty attendees for a focused presentation on the Psychosocial Hazard Work Re-Design Tool (PHReD-T). The event, jointly organised by the ECU School of Business and Law and the MARS Centre, featured Associate Professor Carlo Caponecchia from the University of New South Whales as the keynote presenter.
The event brought together a distinguished group of mining industry representatives, including key organisations such as Rio Tinto, Fortescue, FIFO Focus, The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia, and the MARS Centre’s partner, The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.
This collaborative event provided a valuable opportunity for MARS Centre Members, ECU School of Business and Law staff and industry partners to gain comprehensive insights into the PHReD-T. The tool’s presentation offered attendees a deep dive into innovative approaches to managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace, reinforcing the MARS Centre’s commitment to advancing workplace safety and well-being research.
The intimate nature of the event facilitated meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing critical occupational health and safety challenges within the mining sector.
