Cav Maria Saraceni
Respected Barrister Cav Maria Saraceni specialises in Environmental, Social and Governance regulatory and compliance law, focusing on health, safety, and employment. Leveraging her prior teaching experience, she offers practical training on evolving employment laws, including the ‘right to disconnect’. Active on not-for-profit Boards, she advocates for CALD communities, recognised with a knighthood from the Italian government in 2017.
Dr Rodney Peyton OBE TD
Dr Rodney Peyton OBE TD, is a global trauma surgeon, bestselling author, educator, and Adjunct Professor in ECU’s School of Business and Law. Pivotal in medico-legal reporting since 1983, he’s a founding member of the Expert Witness Institute. Peyton’s contributions have earned him prestigious awards, including the Werner Korte Gold Medal, the Medal of the Swedish Surgical Society, and an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
Dr Sophe Davison
Dr Sophie Davison, inaugural Chief Medical Officer Mental Health at the Mental Health Commission since July 2020, previously served as Deputy Chief Psychiatrist of WA. With over 20 years as a Consultant Psychiatrist, she advocates for integrated partnerships, holistic care, and system improvements, holding Fellowships in both Australian and UK psychiatric colleges, and an MPHil in criminology.
Associate Professor Kate Blackwood
Associate Professor Kate Blackwood is an accomplished researcher with the Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Centre in ECU’s School of Business and Law. Her research centres around industry engagement and collaboration to improve work practices and employee wellbeing, manage psychosocial risks, and promote healthy work environments. She previously co-directed Massey University’s Healthy Work Group, receiving approximately AU$1.5M in external research funding.
