Members and Families

There are no lectures or tests, instead through a Passport to Learning children participate in fun, quality assured learning activities of their choice beyond the classroom.

Once members have earnt the required hours, their participation will be recognised through the award of certificates presented at a graduation ceremony.

These special ceremonies are held at the ECU university campus with families and guests, where graduating children are dressed in a cap and gown, just like older university students.

How it works

Frequently Asked Questions

A current CU membership must be linked with a partner school as many extra-curricular activities are already taking place in schools, and this is a great starting point for CU learning. Furthermore, School Coordinators are essential for the day to day running of the CU program and liaising with the CU ECU team.

Yes. There is an annual membership fee charged to families for each participating student which is payable directly to their school.

The Passport to Learning is a logbook where CU members ‘collect’ their learning. Each activity is recorded, along with the time spent, and validated with a stamp from the school coordinator or Learning Destination. As learning hours accrue, they build towards CUA certificates awarded at graduations.

The CU portal digitally holds all of the information regarding Learning Destinations and validated activities, whilst also offering a range of online learning activities which children can complete online. Members are able to complete and submit online forms for review by their School Coordinator to earn stamps in their Passports to Learning.

No. The CU team at ECU will create a unique username and password for all students and coordinators. These will be forwarded to the School Coordinator, who can then distribute them to members. Neither the username nor the password can be changed by the user.

Once the CU team at ECU have created your account you will need to enter your username and password to gain access. It is a good idea to record your username and password into your Passport Learning.  The portal can be accessed by visiting the CUA website.

Being a part of Children’s University has immensely increased my social skills, knowledge and confidence. It has also increased my passion for learning and my attitude towards learning new things. It has made me more curious and more confident to ask questions about how the world works

I know that his connection to the CU program has given him more confidence as a young person to be able to try new things and step out of his comfort zone, allowing him to experience so many avenues - as a parent for that I am eternally grateful!
