Childrens University participants enjoying drama improvisation with ECU pre-service teachers
ECU’s Children’s University (CU) April School Holiday Program offered another fun learning opportunity for its members and families. Learning the skills behind coding games, exploring how geologists discover the formation of fossils, participating in drama improvisation to develop self-expression skills and self-confidence were all on offer across the Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses.
The Children’s University team partnered with both ECU’s School of Science and Education to offer over 85 young CU participants and family members these experiences, providing an opportunity for the children to discover their passions here at university.
The Children’s University WA Partnership team at ECU were delighted to partner with Australian Earth Science Education (AusEarthEd), a key Learning Destination partner during this year’s April School Holiday Program to deliver their popular “Fantastic Fossils” workshop.
Here is what some of our CU families had to say about this event:
“It was cool to be in the teaching because I want to be a Geologist myself”. (CU member)”
“I enjoyed everything, it was amazing and shows university as fun”. (CU member)
“Great interaction with the older university students to the younger children. Awesome work, thank you”. (CU parent)
“I loved everything, it was fun and I think I like university”. (CU member)
“I enjoyed working alongside my child’s learning”. (CU Parent)
A massive thank you to the presenters for generously offering CU their time and expertise to give our CU families fantastic learning opportunities here at ECU.
