Placements are made according to proximity to home address but travel times cannot be guaranteed. Placements are dependent on offers from schools.
No. The School of Education calendar is set and placements are negotiated with schools according to these timeframes.
No. ECU has agreements with schools and strict protocols around approaching schools for placements. The potential for schools to be overwhelmed by student contact is considerable.
No. ECU strives to maintain an equitable process for all students, so placement protocols do not allow for students to choose their schools. The Placements Office applies the same rules to all student when working with offers they have received from schools.
While your request will be given consideration, in order to facilitate such a placement, you may need to travel. Please note that a placement in a Catholic school cannot be guaranteed.
Professional Experience forms an integral part of your course and requires a full-time commitment for the duration of the professional experience. Missing days will place you at significant risk of not passing the unit so it is our recommendation that you make alternate plans regarding your commitment to your work place.
